Author and former former commander of SEAL Team Six Chuck Pfarrer’s SEAL TARGET GERONIMO: The Inside Story of the Mission to Kill Osama Bin Laden, the only book based on the experiences of the SEALs involved in the assault as told to the author, as well as the larger story of how the SEALs studied bin Laden and his world, to Michael Flamini at St. Martin’s, at auction, for publication November 8, 2011, by Julia Lord at Julia Lord Literary (world). Film rights: RWSG
The book I read by Pfarrer was really good (about his SEAL experience) so this seems like the book to get if you’re interested in this sort of thing. And yeah, this is FAST turn around. I’m sure his agent told him to get writing and started pitching it right away. Not sure I’m ready for a film though. Maybe.
What do you think? Are you interested in reading this book? I have to say his credentials and his apparent access to the actual team members makes a difference for me.

How did you read it when it has not been published yet? It is due out November 8. Did you get an advance copy to review? How do I do that?
Looking forward to reading it. Keep scribbling!
I haven’t read it. The blurb is the announcement of the sale. I’ll have to wait like everyone else until it’s in stores. I expect there are ARCs circulating but, alas, I’m not the sort of person the publisher will send an ARC to. If you’re interested in getting one, you could contact St. Martin’s Press and see. But I’m guess with a book this likely to do well, they’ll be VERY careful about who gets advance copies not to mention enforcing lay down dates. But it sure looks like a great read, doesn’t it?
