The Great Author Bio Adventure Continues

OK, so what do you think of these two?

Bio #1 (Current)

Carolyn Jewel is an award winning author who’s been writing stories ever since she could scribble. Now that she’s grown up (mostly) she writes historical and paranormal romance because she loves history and imagining the lives of people who lived in years past, and because she’s fascinated by the loves and travails of the not-exactly-human in any time period.

Bio #2

Carolyn Jewel was born on a moonless night. That darkness was seared into her soul and she became an award winning author of historical and paranormal romance. She loves combing the records of history and myth, fascinated by the loves and travails of the human and not-precisely-human of different eras. An avid fan of fine chocolate, Bollywood films, and heroism in all forms, she has three cats and a dog. Also a son. One of the cats is his.

This is a cut-and-paste job combining some of your options:

Carolyn Jewel is an award winning author who’s been writing stories ever since she could scribble. Now that she’s grown up she writes historical and paranormal romance because she loves history and imagining the lives of people (not always exactly human). An avid fan of fine chocolate, Bollywood films, and heroism in all forms, she has a very dusty car, a Master’s degree in English, a son, three cats, and a dog.

Ohhhhh! Meljean Brook posted in your comments. Cool!

Anyway, definitely include your education. You earned it. It’s gives some fans confidence in the author’s writing skills, even though there are non-degreed authors just as capable of writing.
