Two ARCs of Not Proper Enough

I have two ARCS of my September historical, Not Proper Enough, to give away to two people who would like to review the book. This is an ARC (Advance Reading Copy) which means the final corrections aren’t in (but it was pretty clean as these things go), there’s no pretty cover, although it is purple. You are only obligated to give an honest review. That’s it.

Rules:

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 or older to enter.

Leave a comment to this post by midnight Pacific, June 6th, 2012. I will choose a winner at random.

You should also mention if there’s a vegetable you really hate. And why, because that would be interesting data.

For example, I hate cooked carrots. My mother used to cook them in milk until they were reduced to bits of carrot shaped mush. The dog wouldn’t even eat them and our dog ate everything.

Tomatoes. I love to grow them, but cannot eat them raw. Even the musty smell of them raw makes my stomach turn. I hid this fact from my son until last year, because I didn’t want him to think they tasted bad, too. I love cooked sauces with them, though. Go figure, I’ve never claimed to be consistent! lol

ARC! Yes! Please put my name in. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hate lima beans. Does that count as a vegetable? The taste gosh awful. My grandmother made me try them once because she said you always had to try something at least once. I’ve stayed far away since. I’m also not a fan of mushrooms, though I often crave them and think they’ll taste fantastic. After the shrooms enter my mouth my mind does a 360, and I remind myself how much I despise them.

Looking forward to this book for months now. You’re awesome as always.

I already have Not Wicked Enough! I wouldn’t mind having Not Proper Enough sit next to it on the shelf looking all pretty. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ahem, now onto the vegetables? Well where do I start? lol j/k. I’ll go with broccoli. They look like shrubs or trees, and IMO, are just as tasty. Blech. Doesn’t matter what you put on them either (cheese, butter, mayo..) they’re still ICKY.

  4. Amy Gregg says:

I hate cooked cauliflower. The smell makes me instantly nauseated. This little fact was something my family loved to exploit by passing cooked cauliflower with melted cheese (their fave dish BTW) right under my nose and ask if I’d like some. That little game ended when I threatened to spew all over the Thanksgiving table one year.

Oh, and I’d like to toss my name into the ARC hat as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Count me in for the ARC if it’s okay to live in the UK. Its a painful wait for “Not Proper Enough” to be released.
Cabbage! In my mom’s part of the world, cabbage rice is a traditional festive dish that everyone else in my family loves. Some of my earliest memories are of me picking out the baked cabbage strips from my food. Cant stand them! Arghhhh!

I would LOVE a copy of the arc to review!

The vegtable I just can’t tolerate any more is the green bean. I have no good reason as I used to eat them all the time, but now they disgust me.

I would love to review Not Proper Enough! I don’t have a blog or website but I could review it for Amazon.

My least favorite vegetable is beets. My sister loves them, in all ways you fix ’em, especially pickled beets (shudder). I’ve never liked them, unlike squash which I now love but used to dislike almost as much. Funny how food tastes change. Well, some tastes anyway.

I HATE PEAS. My mother says she gave me a bad jar of babyfood once and I’ve never eaten them since. I don’t like the texture, the shape or the taste. YUCK!

  11. Lisa says:

Beans. Shudder. Can’t stand them. Hubby loves them so we have to cook them sometimes…the smell.. Blah lol
Please add my name as well ๐Ÿ™‚ ty

I’d loved to read and review your new book!

I confess to hating cucumbers. There is no witty story to explain my hate–just can’t stand both the smell and taste of them. Sadly, I was the only one in my family who felt that way and my mother served them often!

  13. Anna says:

I would love to win Not Proper Enough! I’d post my review on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

My least favorite vegetable are bean (or is it brussel?) sprouts. For some reason, some sub restaurants like to put them in an avocado turkey sandwich, which was my favorite sandwich once upon a time. The sprouts have a worm-like appearance and taste like grass. Yuck!

A vegetable that I dislike is okra. I just find it too squishy when it is cooked.

Apparently I am a bit behind on my blog reading… So I will not attempt to add my name to the ARC hat.

I will chime in on the vegetables though, cause it’s fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomatoes – like Renee, I grow them and eat them cooked in a variety of ways. Can’t just pick one up and eat it though. Something about that gooey, icky, slimy inside.

Spinach – as a child, I broke into hives all over my body that lasted for a week if I touched the stuff. I *think* I’ve outgrown it, but I’m not willing to test it.
