Thirsty - The Sheep

This is Thirsty. She is a ewe who got that name because she was at one time a bummer lamb (that is, a lamb whose mother rejected her). Bummer lambs need to be bottle fed using some milk replacer such as LambLac. She was quite ill and for a while we didn’t think she’d live. But she did, and once she was healthy, she was one thirsty lamb. Hence the name Thirsty. When she was very small, when she wasn’t in the house, she was on the deck. Eventually, she was moved into the field with the rest of the sheep. She was quite vocal when she thought it was time for her to be fed. Thirsty is pretty much the Alpha ewe — the one the other sheep follow.

In case you’re wondering why I have posted her picture here, the answer lies over at Katibab’s Blog. I would very much like to have my own demon sheep.

Miss Behaving

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I just scheduled a post (It will post tomorrow, August 12, 2009) over at the Risky Regencies that is, well, just plain odd. But so fun! Head over there, check it out and join the fun.

Update: permanent URL to the post is here. Click on over if you think you’d like to be a Risky Regencies Minion of Evil.

What else? I’ve been working hard on The Next Paranormal. I’ve got just over 40,000 words and things are starting to shake loose as to what plot points aren’t going to go anywhere and where I need to concentrate instead.

I remain baffled by my dog’s inability to get on the bed by himself. Unless there is food on it.

MacFang continues to be a pleasure to work with. I smile whenever I see his fangs. But mostly I smile because he’s not breaking my back to carry around.

Off to word-work for me.

Over at the Riskies, RWA Report

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

I’m over at the Risky Regencies blogging about our Radio Interview and RWA Nationals be sure to check it out!

The Literacy Signing is tonight, so if you’re in the area, stop by and say hello. I would be very pleased and happy if you did.

My flight from SFO to DCI was as an airplane ride ought to be; uneventful. The Wardman Marriot is beautiful and right now the AC is on and I am a happy girl. My roomate, Megan Frampton is behaving herself but I have hopes that won’t last. I will report more on RWA later as things get started.

Fun with Google Books

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Today I’m over at Risky Regencies where I got carried away with Google Books and blogged about (NSFW!!!) bad words from the Regency. There are bad words in the post, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Also, leeches applied to the peen.
