One Starlit Night

Cover of One Starlit Night

Cover of One Starlit Night

One Starlit Night, the novella I wrote for the anthology Midnight Scandals will be available for individual purchase with in a day or two. Possibly even by the time you’re reading this. I’ve uploaded the files and now it’s just wait for them to post! I’ve uploaded to Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Kobo, Apple and Smashwords. AllRomance eBooks is more work so that will take a day or two more.

As soon as I have links, I’ll post them. So, go forth and purchase. If you didn’t buy the anthology, here’s you chance to have just mine. Or just Courtney Milan’s, or just Sherry Thomas’s.

The cover, by the way, was made by the amazing Courtney Milan.

My Darkest Passion – Update

The MS is back from my editor. It took longer than I had figured in the schedule which is why I’m behind. I’m learning as I go how long things take. This is the first time my editor has worked on a full length novel for me, so I could only guesstimate the time. I expect the revisions to take about a week, and then it goes to my copyeditor. And THEN I’ll start creating the files. So, soon? OK?

I’m getting the print cover pulled together as we speak and I think I’ve worked out the kinks for the interior formatting for the print version. Progress is being made!

Blurb for My Darkest Passion

Saturday, March 16th, 2013

Version 4.0

How about this?

Debt of Honor
Addison O’Henry is plunged into a world of demons and magic when she’s abducted by a dark mage. The grisly ritual he performs is intended to increase his magic, but it backfires, leaving her with lethal powers. Harsh Marit, a demon who serves a powerful warlord, makes the hard choice to keep Addison alive despite the danger she poses to his kind. Instead, he gives her what she wants, a normal life. Can she really turn her back on him and the dark and intense world he inhabits?

Darkest Passion
Even though Harsh’s feelings for Addison are far from innocent, he intends to keep her safe—not so easy with the increasing danger from corrupt mages. As events spin out of control, Addison refuses to ignore the debt she owes him, or the demonkind’s need for her power. A stark choice soon confronts them; she must bind Harsh’s life to hers or let him die. The consequences pull them into an explosive relationship with ramifications that ripple though a world on the edge of war.

OK, what about this one?

Debt of Honor Incurred

Addison O’Henry is pulled into a world of demons and magic when she’s abducted by a mage conducting horrific experiments on humans and demons alike. After a ritual murder gone wrong leaves Addison with potentially lethal magic, demon Harsh Marit refuses to terminate her. Instead, he gives her a chance at a normal life. Can she turn her back on him and the dark and intense world he inhabits?

Darkest Passion Explored

Harsh knows he shouldn’t get involved with Addison, but his feelings for her are far from innocent. With corrupt mages threatening them both, he intends only to keep her safe, but she refuses to ignore the debt she owes him or their need for her power. A stark choice soon confronts them both; she must bind Harsh’s life to hers or let him die. The consequences pull them into an explosive relationship with ramifications that ripple though a world on the edge of war.

Slightly less wretched?

A Debt of Honor Incurred. . .
Addison O’Henry has no idea magic is real or that the fragile peace between the magekind—humans who can use magic—and demons could shatter at any moment. That changes the day she’s abducted by one of the magekind. After a ritual murder goes horribly wrong, Addison ends up with demon-sourced magic that nearly kills her. But for the intervention of demon Harsh Marit, she might not have survived. Though Harsh does what he can to help her return to what used to be normal, they both know her life will never be the same.

Their Darkest Passion Explored. . .
With corrupt mages threatening them both, Addison leaves normal behind to pay the debt she owes to Harsh and the demon warlord he serves. Events soon force them into a stark choice; if she doesn’t bind Harsh’s life to hers, he’ll die. Their once distant relationship turns hot and immediate even as the consequences ripple through a world on the edge of war.

After multiple wretched attempts, here’s the first version of a blurb for My Darkest Passion that isn’t awful:

For Addison O’Henry, normal stopped the day she was abducted by a mage conducting breeding experiments on humans and demons. The ritual murder of a demon goes horribly wrong and results in her taking on power matched only by a few demon warlords. Humans almost never survive that kind of accident, and, but for the intervention of demon Harsh Marit, she might not have been an exception. Though Harsh does what he can to return her to a normal life, she can’t forget him or her debt to him.
With corrupt mages threatening them both, her honor requires her to do whatever is necessary to help Harsh and the demon warlord he serves, even if it means accepting her power and leaving behind a normal life. Now her once distant relationship with Harsh turns hot and immediate as the two of them explore the dark passion of a forbidden relationship.

Updated Chapters 1 and 2 for My Darkest Passion

Sunday, February 10th, 2013

I’ve posted an updated excerpt from My Darkest Passion.  The book is with my editor now which means it should be out soon. I suppose it also means I should be working on the back blurb. Anyway, I’ve posted Chapters 1 and 2 since chapter 1 is a bit short.

It’s possible it could all change, of course, but this close to the finish line, it’s less likely that it was, say, 4 months ago.

The Fork. Photo by Yours Truly.

I’ve sent the MS off to my editor. There’s still revisions, copyediting, and proofreading, but I expect to have the book on sale late this month.

My Darkest Passion is book 5 of the My Immortals series. I guess I also need to start working on the back blurb, too…

Newsing the Covers

Sunday, January 20th, 2013

I have two covers to show you:

First, the cover for My Darkest Passion, Book 5 of the My Immortals series. The MS is back from a beta read and I’m working on those revisions now. Then it’s off to my editor, so I’m thinking mid-to-late February is looking good as a release date. This is Harsh Marit’s story. At long last, I was able to find an image of a Southeast Asian (Indian) man that was super hot. In fact, I found more than one! Because, as the world is discovering, there is actually no shortage of Indian men more than suitably hot for a romance cover. Woot!!! Patricia Schmitt is the cover artist for both.

Serious face of a Southeast Asian (Indian) man looking to the left. He is extremely handsome.

Cover! Hot!

Second, here’s the new cover for Lord Ruin. I’ve already uploaded it to Amazon, Apple, and Barnes and Noble, along with some updates to the text, mostly formatting, but I did find a few more typos. I’ll have the file updated for Smashwards and All Romance shortly.

Progress Report and Craziness

Saturday, December 22nd, 2012

Life has been busy lately, to say the least. In the writing realm, I can say that My Darkest Passion (My Immortals 5 – Harsh’s book) is still coming along.

I just completed a vast reorganization of the chapters. I haven’t settled yet on the way I will structure the story. I started out purely chronological then switched to some flashback scenes and now I’m back to chronological. The second method had some extremely effective benefits, but for the moment, I am going to work on this thing from point A to point B and then decide if that’s the best way to structure the final version.

Two red pens have been sacrificed during my last set of paper read throughs. TWO! I am on my third. The good news is this means things are way better. It means I am deepening emotions and characters and honing in on what makes them and their story tick.

I am close. Very close to sending it to my editor. But not yet.

This also means you can expect to see a completely different current chapter 1 posting soon.
