The Fork is Out!

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Sinful is pretty much done.

I rewrote my last chapter, finished the major tweaks on the back half and now all that’s left is some critique stuff, and deletion of very, pretty, words ending in ly, ing and the like and any last minute panicking that may come up between now and Sunday evening.

Making Progress!

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Today I got through all my action items for Scandal. Yay! By the time I was ready to print out the MS for a final read through I was up to 94K. I’m doing the read through now, and it’s going pretty well so far. Nothing major. So far.

I’m posting early because I promised my son months ago that we’d see the Golden Compass when it came out. The movie’s out now. We’re just waiting for my sister to get here, since she gets off early enough on Saturdays that she can come with us. Then we’re off to the movie.

At the moment, I’m really tired. Don’t know why but I am.

A Whole New Chapter

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Literally, I’m afraid. It’s the next to last chapter of Scandal and I knew there were some issues because my outline contained the words This is a mess. Fix it. So yeah. The fix was to start completely over. Sigh. Had to happen. It’s going slow, because, like, has anything about Scandal EVER gone quickly? Answer: No.

So, yeah. I’m procrastinating like heck. But it’s getting done. Slowly.

Back to it.

I’m not In Dallas

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

No RWA conference for me this year. Nope. I have my nose to the grindstone, working hard on polishing Magellan’s Witch. I’m up to chapter 14 and so far no disasters, rewrites or deletions. I’ve corrected a few continuity issues, caught another typo or two and am generally continuing to deepen and improve.

In Other Writing news, I was saddened to hear of the death of Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. Her website hasn’t been updated with the news yet, but take a minute to visit the site of a literary pioneer. Thank you, Ms. Woodiwiss. We’ll miss you.

Other news includes upcoming books I’m itching to read. Harry Potter 7, of course. We had a lively discussion over dinner tonight about who we thought is the character mostly likely to die. My son said Snape or Hermione. I said, what if it’s Hagrid? Others thought perhaps Harry. — If it is, I can see the book flying to the wall right now.

But, the book I can hardly wait to read is J.R. Ward’s next Black Dagger Brotherhood book, Lover Unbound. Michelle Buonfiglio over at B(u)y The Book is reading an ARC right now. Waahhh! I want an ARC too! I have the email from Amazon assuring me my copy is coming. It better be here September 25th! Sigh. Vishous.Sigh.

All righty. Back to work.
